Second-Source Precision Casting Supply with Material and Dimensional Requalification
Relia reviews second-source casting against your accepted component, material condition and working references. Share the actual material or dimensional issue with the controlled drawing. The new route needs its own samples and agreed evidence; previous supplier approval identifies the target but does not qualify new production.

The Approved Component Remains the Acceptance Reference
Relia begins with the accepted component and the specific reason for adding a second source. A bore-location issue needs a shared datum and setup; a material concern needs the actual cast specification and relevant evidence. We keep those decisions together while reviewing tooling condition, new manufacturing inputs and the sample approval needed before routine orders begin.
Separate Material Variation from Dimensional Disagreement
Provide the observed variation and the locations affected, along with the accepted drawing revision. Separate material concerns, dimensional differences and assembly symptoms. A precise issue record helps avoid changing a manufacturing step that is unrelated to the actual purchasing problem.

The Second Source Uses an Approved Material and Condition
Approve the required casting material and delivered condition for the second source. List the evidence needed to verify them, including any relevant treatment requirements. A familiar nominal grade or an old supplier certificate should not become the only acceptance reference for new supply.
Requalify the New Route Against the Protected Features
Transferred tooling does not by itself qualify a new manufacturing route. Compare its condition and revision with the accepted drawing, then review the mold or shell arrangement, local machining stock and fixture references. A nominally unchanged housing may require a different setup to preserve the bore-to-base relationship.
Use the new source's trial to check the identified risks in the specified delivery condition. Correlate the buyer and factory measurement basis before comparing results. Relia separates an approved tooling repair or process proposal from an unreviewed design change, so the sample decision describes the route and features actually evaluated.

Measurement Correlation Is Part of the Trial
Agree the measuring datums, support condition and methods used by both teams. A dimensional disagreement may require correlation before it can be treated as a manufacturing failure. Use the same feature definition and accepted part state when comparing sample or batch results.
Samples Requalify the Agreed Supply Scope
The qualification sample should address the original material and dimensional risks. Connect the sample identity with the agreed checks and any buyer assembly feedback. We can provide order-specific key dimensional records, with features and sampling frequency defined in the supply plan.

Release Replacement Supply Through Defined Gates
Record the accepted material, drawing, tooling state and sample decision before repeat releases. Identify the changes requiring review and the references used to distinguish the new source. This creates a controlled starting point rather than assuming similarity to the former supplier is sufficient.
If the new-source parts or results do not meet the agreed requirement, Relia reviews the drawing, actual component and relevant records with you first. We distinguish measurement correlation from a confirmed defect, then jointly determine rework, replacement supply or another disposition under the order. The agreed corrective action can then be reflected in the next sample or release requirement.

Transition Quantities and Records Define the Supply Handover
Plan the transition quantities, required records, identification and delivery protection. Separate tooling or requalification work from routine part pricing. Keep continuity and acceptance conditions visible so purchasing and quality can make the second-source decision from the same evidence.

Share the Approved Specification and Problem Evidence
Send the approved drawing, sample reference and evidence of the material or dimensional issue. Add the required material, measuring conditions and transition quantities. We can review a requalification and supply plan around those specific risks.
