Precision Casting Samples and First-Article Approval for New OEM Parts
Relia plans casting samples around the decision your OEM team needs to make: a critical fit, a difficult cast section or a defined supplied condition. We agree the drawing, material and checks before the trial. Your sample approval then establishes the relevant basis for batch production.

The Sample Has a Defined Decision to Support
Relia connects the sample route with the decision your team needs to make. A carrier may need its bore and pin pattern checked together; a housing may need the bore related to its seating face. We agree those priorities before producing the trial and separate dimensional approval from any additional material, leakage or service validation specified for the project.
The Component Function Identifies the Critical Trial Features
Start with the component's function and the features that could stop assembly. Identify bores, faces, internal regions or surfaces needing particular attention. Different geometry requires a different trial objective, so a first article should not be treated as a fixed generic checklist for every part.

The Trial Uses an Approved Casting Material and Condition
Approve the actual casting material and delivered condition for the trial. List the required material evidence and any specified treatment or test. A sample in one condition cannot automatically qualify a later order supplied in a different state.
Make the Trial Represent the Route Being Approved
Choose the sample route against the uncertainty it must resolve. A cast first article can expose local stock, cleanup and forming issues that a model made by another process does not reproduce. A CNC-finished sample adds the actual locating and mating relationships your assembly uses.
Keep the pattern or tool revision, casting definition and finished drawing connected. Where a tooling or geometry change is proposed, obtain design approval before treating the result as the production reference. Relia then links the agreed dimensional checks to the sample identity; a separate customer assembly check can close the fit decision before batch release.

First-Article Records Identify the Features Checked
Agree first-article features and measurement methods before the sample is made. Use the working datum relationships and the condition in which the part will be accepted. Where your team performs a mating or functional check, identify that separate step and the references it needs.
Sample Identity Connects the Feature, Method and Result
A useful record connects the sample identity, measured feature, method and result. We can provide key dimensional records with items and sampling agreed for the order. Material, treatment and any specified test records should use compatible part and revision references.

Approval Closes Specific Open Items
Record acceptance, open items and approved changes clearly. A conditional sample decision should identify what remains before batch release. If the drawing changes, review the effect on tooling, finishing and the earlier evidence rather than carrying an approval forward without checking it.
A conditional sample decision retains its limits. Production release refers to the approved configuration and the actions actually closed.
Detailed drawing and acceptance checklist
Production Release Retains the Approved Definition
Define how the approved sample and revision become the reference for repeat supply. Include quantities, records, identification and finished-contact protection. This connects development work with a controlled order instead of leaving the sample as an isolated showcase component.
