Confidential RFQ Intake for Custom Cast and Machined Components

Assortment of component forms for an initial manufacturing enquiry
A short component-family brief can define the initial enquiry. Share controlled drawings and detailed requirements under the agreed confidentiality arrangements.

You can begin a confidential casting or CNC enquiry with a limited project summary, then share the drawings needed for a useful technical review under the agreed confidentiality arrangement.

Read the overview and page sections

We explain the component information that supports route selection, quotation and later production release. This helps you protect design information while still giving the manufacturing review enough detail to assess your part.

The Technical Review Uses an Agreed Information Scope

Relia's enquiry discussion can start with material, approximate envelope, quantities and the type of manufacturing problem. The next review needs the relevant geometry, interfaces and acceptance requirements. Relia's participation and any necessary onward technical sharing should fit the confidentiality arrangement agreed for your project, with quotation inputs distinguished from production-authorised files.

Share the Information Needed for the Current Decision

An early manufacturing discussion and a final tooling release have different information needs. Keep the file scope proportionate to the stage of the project.

Manufacturing Participation Must Fit the Agreement

A component route may involve different forming, machining, treatment or testing activities. Review permitted sharing before information is provided to any participant. We do not assume all operations take place in one workshop, and a supplier-intake discussion should not hide the information flow required by the proposed manufacturing scope.

A

Permission to exchange

Agree the file scope, authorised participants and intended use before detailed information is shared.

B

Permission to manufacture

Identify the approved drawing revision, order scope and tooling release separately.

Passing gate A does not pass gate B. A quote-review file is not a production instruction.

Give Casting and Machining Reviews the Same Revision

A casting review needs section changes, cavity access, draft-sensitive regions and the surfaces reserved for machining.

Give casting and CNC reviews the same definition

A CNC review needs datums, finished limits, tool access and the condition of the starting blank. Removing those features from a drawing may prevent a meaningful quotation even when the outside shape remains visible.

Identify the release status of each technical file

Relia's review can identify which inputs are missing before a detailed proposal proceeds. Keep the model, drawing, specification and technical comments connected to one revision, and state whether each file is for feasibility, quotation or production release. The agreed confidentiality terms govern use and sharing; a file label alone does not define those obligations.

Quotation Use Is Distinguished from Production Release

Files supplied for feasibility or pricing are not automatically an instruction to manufacture. State the status of the package and the route for later approval. Proposed changes or alternatives should be reviewed against that status, keeping development discussion separate from the definition authorised for tooling and production.

Keep Drawings and Review Comments on the Same Revision

A confidentiality discussion does not resolve a revision mismatch. Identify the file and the manufacturing decision it supports.

Technical Review Starts with the Approved Inputs

Once the information boundary is agreed, include material, quantity, finished interfaces and acceptance requirements in the RFQ. These allow a meaningful casting or machining proposal without requiring unrelated confidential details. Any remaining information gap should be named so the quotation's technical limits are understandable.

Begin with the Confidentiality Requirement

Use the contact route to describe the component family and the agreement needed before sending the full package. The existing confidentiality and finished-component pages provide related context. The next action is a defined intake and review process, without treating this page as a security certification or a signed contract.
