Custom aluminum casting begins with the component you need to assemble. This OEM casting enquiry is for customer-defined dimensions, with the casting route, machined surfaces and finish agreed around the drawing or sample.

Choose the casting route around the component

Aluminum die casting and investment casting describe different production approaches, so the required geometry and alloy should lead the discussion. Identify thin sections, internal details, mating features and the intended order quantity before a route is selected. The final quotation should distinguish the casting blank from any subsequent deburring or machining.

Define the surfaces that determine fit

A cast shape and a finished assembly interface are different requirements. Mark bores, contact faces and other critical aluminum-part dimensions on the drawing, including the tolerances and surface condition that matter to your assembly. If paint, powder coating or another finish is requested, identify cosmetic faces and any areas that must remain clear.

  • Specify the aluminum alloy requirement rather than relying on a generic metal description.
  • Show the casting geometry and customer-required dimensions in a drawing or sample.
  • Mark aluminum-part bores and mating faces that need machining.
  • Define the coating appearance and functional surfaces for the casting.
  • State the OEM quantity so tooling and production scope can be discussed together.

Build a comparable OEM enquiry

Send the drawing revision, required alloy, quantity and acceptance requirements together. Ask for the casting route, tooling scope and finished-part condition to be identified clearly, so an as-cast quotation is not compared with a fully machined component. A photograph can illustrate an aluminum casting shape, but it does not establish your final grade, dimensions or acceptance tolerance.

For this custom foundry enquiry, the useful outcome is an agreed aluminum component specification that connects the casting blank to its finished assembly interfaces.

Please include the drawing revision, material specification, quantity, critical dimensions, finish and inspection documents needed for your part. Tooling, samples, delivery and any return or remedy arrangements are subject to the agreed order terms.
