Define the cup-like component and the actual metal required by its drawing. The example has a large circular open mouth, raised outer rim regions, projecting details and a short pedestal-like base. Its appearance does not establish a particular item of equipment, pressure function or material grade.
Describe the cavity and external references
Provide the full axial section, internal cavity and wall dimensions. Locate the open mouth, rim details and base from the assembly datums. Include mating parts where they determine contact, clearance or engagement, and identify any features hidden from the exterior view.
- Provide the controlled cavity, rim and base drawing.
- Select actual steel, grey-iron or ductile-iron requirements.
- Locate mating surfaces and projecting details.
- Agree casting, secondary machining and finishing scope.
- Define material records and dimensional acceptance.
Choose material and casting route explicitly
Steel, grey iron and ductile iron are separate material directions in the title. Specify the actual grade and required condition rather than treating them as one interchangeable sample identity. The general steel or iron field and the photograph do not independently establish the ordered material.
Investment and sand-casting terms should be assessed for the selected design. A general die-casting service entry does not define one compulsory route for every metal. Agree the actual blank-making and secondary-work scope, marking surfaces supplied as cast and those requiring machining.
Set acceptance in the supplied condition
Specify units, tolerances and inspection methods for the interfaces that control assembly. Choose paint, coating or another treatment appropriate to the selected metal and service, with masking where finishing affects fit. The image does not verify a coating process or tested resistance property.
Provide the intended installation and any load, pressure or other duty-related requirements relevant to selection. A cup or bell form does not establish a rated operating function. Confirm quantities and documentation so that the request connects one actual material and component drawing to a clear casting, machining and inspection plan. Those requirements should govern acceptance of the delivered part rather than a general precision label.
