Define the circular hub-plate component and its actual casting specification. The example is a dark plate-like form with a raised central hub and bore, small hub projections and a separate opening through the plate. These details identify the geometry without establishing its material grade, operating function or manufacturing route.

Locate the hub and plate openings

Provide the outside diameter, plate thickness and the hub's position relative to the plate faces. Dimension the bore, hub projections and separate opening from the assembly datums. Include the mating shaft, fastener or adjoining part where it determines fit, without assuming a particular connection from the photograph.

Identify the surfaces to be supplied as cast and those requiring machining. State the bore and contact-face requirements in the finished condition, with the tolerances and inspection criteria that control acceptance. A circular form does not establish a rotating duty or an allowable load.

Select one material and casting route

• Provide the hub-plate drawing and required quantities.
• Specify the actual grey-iron grade or separately agreed material.
• Locate the bore, hub and plate-hole relationships.
• Define casting, secondary machining and finish.
• State material records and final inspection requirements.

For a grey-iron sand-casting request, identify that material and route explicitly. Aluminum and die-casting terms in the broader service information should not be combined into an assertion that a grey-iron component is made from aluminum. Other material or route alternatives need their own selected specification.

Agree the finished supply and application criteria

Choose paint, coating or another material-appropriate treatment and identify any surfaces requiring masking or dimensional protection. Define the actual installation and any duty-related evidence required for the ordered part.
