Long ribs around an open center
The retained example has a long opening between raised ribs and heavier end regions. Define the slot and reference faces together, including the surfaces that locate the component and any holes required after casting.
For gray or ductile iron sand casting, specify the selected grade and section dimensions. Mark the machining requirements separately from the as-cast geometry.
Requirements for the finished component
Provide quantities, finish and the current drawing revision. Include critical fit dimensions, edge conditions and inspection or material records for the actual assembly.
