Define the selected hollow body before comparing an aluminum or zinc-alloy casting proposal. The examples include circular passages, elbow-like profiles, flanged or tabbed regions and angled tubes on mounting plates. Their appearance does not establish a pressure rating, standard pipe connection or one supplied system.
Reference the passages to the mounting base
Provide section views and the actual mating-component geometry. Locate bore axes, flange faces and base fixings from the references used by the assembly, including any required angular relationship. Identify cast surfaces and contacts needing machining so final fit can be assessed independently of the photographed outline.
Select the alloy and treatment together
State an actual aluminum or zinc-alloy grade, material condition and quantity for each design. Evaluate the die-casting route for those sections rather than assuming every hollow form uses the same process. Heat treatment and surface finishing need to suit the selected metal and intended service, not a universal combination of methods.
- Select the flanged body or angled-tube drawing.
- Specify actual alloy, condition and wall sections.
- Locate passage axes and mounting contacts.
- Define machining, finishing and fit allowances.
- Agree component inspection and any duty tests.
Separate dimensional checks from service acceptance
Use PDF or CAD dimensions and IGES or STEP models to communicate the hollow geometry. Specify final tolerances, measurement conditions and required material records. Any sealing, pressure or fluid-service requirement needs the actual operating brief and applicable testing; neither a passage nor a flange proves that qualification.
Evaluate the casting proposal against this body's defined bore-to-base relationship and the agreed finished-component acceptance.
