This formed tab example combines an open fork profile at one end, an offset central section and a round fixing feature at the other. It is shown within the LZX custom sheet metal bending and stamping service. Stainless steel, aluminium, steel and galvanized steel are listed material options.
Control the fork and offset geometry
For a corresponding part, define the fork opening, arm widths and the shape at the bottom of the opening. Show the distance from that profile to the fixing hole and specify the finished offset height. These dimensions describe how the tab relates to the mating assembly.
State whether the fixing feature needs a plain hole, a thread or a separate fitting. A drawing should also identify the sheet thickness and any required radii or edge condition. The example image does not supply a thread designation or a dimensional tolerance.
Prepare the fabrication request
The manufacturing information includes stamping and CNC bending equipment, with custom OEM service. Send the drawing revision, selected material and quantity, and identify the faces used to locate the part during inspection. Surface treatment and color can then be specified for the required component.
