Describe the finned housing interfaces

The pictured housing has external fins, mounting ears and side openings. Their presence does not independently establish thermal performance, enclosure protection or the actual stainless grade.

Choose the required casting and machining scope by drawing. Preserve space for tools around the ears and ports, and distinguish fitted surfaces from external as-formed features.

Prepare the housing machining brief

The cavity, ears and ports create different access requirements. Mark the finished contacts clearly so that the blank and machining sequence can be reviewed together.

• Set the housing bore and cover-seat references.
• Dimension ear holes and supporting contact faces.
• Locate side ports relative to the main cavity.
• Specify alloy, blank allowance and compatible finish.
• Attach revised PDF/CAD or IGES/STEP geometry.

Confirm feature-level acceptance

Assign milling, drilling and any broaching to the actual required features. Agree quantities and inspection methods; thermal, sealing or protection claims require their own application tests and cannot be inferred from fins or appearance.
