Slots and folded edges on a mounting plate
The dark example has a broad flat center, elongated openings and raised edge regions. Define the plate outline, slot positions, holes and edge geometry on the drawing, including the dimensions of the mating mounting surfaces.
For an aluminum sheet-metal stamping or punching project, specify the sheet alloy, thickness, formed edges and deburring requirements. Locate each slot and mounting hole from the part's assembly references so cutting and forming can be reviewed together.
Coating the finished plate
State the powder-coating specification, color and any surfaces or holes to mask. Include quantities and inspection criteria for the slots, edge regions and fastening interfaces. The black appearance alone does not establish coating type, thickness or corrosion-test performance.
