Use this custom-casting enquiry for a component specified in aluminum alloy or stainless steel. Identify which metal is required for each drawing rather than treating the two names as interchangeable sample descriptions. The actual grade, geometry and supplied condition determine the manufacturing questions that need to be resolved.
Set the material and design basis
Provide the drawing revision, quantities and the reason a particular material is specified. Include mating components or an assembly reference where they control a mounting face, bore or clearance. The listed PDF/CAD and IGES/STEP inputs support the exchange of drawings and models; critical dimensions and acceptance requirements should remain clear in the controlled design information.
If alternative metals are being considered, present them as separate proposals against the same functional requirements. Do not assume that a change from aluminum alloy to stainless steel leaves wall geometry, tooling or finishing requirements unchanged. Ask for the implications of the selected material to be identified during design and process review.
Compare equivalent finished-part proposals
- Use the same drawing revision and component quantity.
- State the actual grade for each material proposal.
- Identify the casting route and tooling scope under review.
- Separate casting, machining and surface-treatment operations.
- Define the finished dimensions and supporting inspection records.
The general process menu includes die, sand, investment and lost-foam casting. It does not establish that every route is appropriate for both named metals or for every geometry. Agree the intended method for the particular part, including the condition of the blank and the surfaces to be finished by machining.
Link treatment and inspection to the selected alloy
Choose any heat treatment or surface finish for the actual material and service. Mark surfaces needing fit control or protection during finishing, and state whether dimensions are to be accepted in the final treated condition. A broad list of inspection methods is not a requirement to apply every method to every order.
Where an industry specification or certification matters, identify the applicable requirement and obtain relevant evidence. Catalogue industry names and historical certification wording are not individual component approvals. A clear enquiry links one material choice and process proposal to a defined, inspectable deliverable.

Experience precision casting with our Custom Aluminum Alloy and Stainless Steel Casting Services.
