Define the individual stainless mechanical component before comparing die, sand or investment-casting requirements. The examples include a ribbed grid plate, an open-window cylindrical body, a deep cup and stepped or flared round bases. They provide geometry references rather than evidence that every piece shares a 304 or 316 composition.
Connect the stainless designation to the specification
State the required material standard, casting-grade designation and delivery condition for each drawing. Identify any material documentation needed for the project. Nominal 304 and 316 identifiers do not establish sample chemistry, automatic casting-grade equivalence or one treatment suitable for the whole assortment.
Draw the ribs, windows and working contacts
Provide section views locating walls, openings and bore or seating surfaces from functional references. Identify cast regions and contacts requiring machining, including the required allowances. Select each part and quantity independently instead of treating the grid, cup and cylindrical forms as one complete assembly.
- Identify each ribbed plate, cup or cylinder drawing.
- Specify actual stainless standard and casting grade.
- Dimension sections, windows and assembly contacts.
- Review die, sand or investment-casting feasibility.
- Agree machined fits and material inspection records.
Evaluate the finished mechanical component
Include PDF or CAD dimensions and IGES or STEP geometry where available. Define compatible finishing, tolerance units and final measurement conditions, with any required pressure, load or other functional tests. Supplier identity and current applicable certification need appropriate evidence rather than an assumed brand or process association.
Compare the OEM proposals against the same selected geometry, stainless specification and finished-interface acceptance.
