Start with the elongated ribbed body and its end features when defining this plastic-component request. The black example has several round openings or recesses and rounded disc-like regions at both ends. Appearance alone does not establish rubber construction, movable rollers, a particular resin or the manufacturing route.
Locate round openings from the ribbed bar ends
Provide component sections, rib geometry and the positions of circular features from assembly datums. Identify the adjoining parts and any contact or clearance requirements. Specify whether end regions are integral, separately assembled or require another material rather than inferring that relationship from the photograph.
- Reference the ribbed bar and assembly drawing.
- Dimension openings, ribs and rounded end regions.
- Select actual nylon, ABS or specified elastomer.
- Separate molding, CNC and any joining operations.
- Agree final fit, appearance and inspection records.
Distinguish the polymer from the process
State the exact grade and condition for each material region. If rubber or another elastomer is required, define its formulation and relevant acceptance properties. Injection molding and CNC machining are distinct operations; identify which is requested and mark any secondary-machined interfaces on the controlled drawing.
Set measurable precision and appearance criteria
Provide tolerances with units and final measurement conditions, plus the required color reference and matt finish. Any load, movement or environmental requirement needs actual operating conditions and applicable tests. A visible disc-like end does not demonstrate a functioning roller or verified load capacity.
Include quantities and required material documentation. Keep the delivered component definition explicit so quotations for different polymers or manufacturing scopes remain comparable.
