Specify the heat-sink body and any requested heat-pipe assembly as a defined supply scope. The example shows a rectangular finned component with a broad top face, two long copper-colored inset strips and circular openings. These visible details do not independently establish a working copper heat pipe or a measured heat-transfer result.
Define the complete thermal assembly
State whether heat pipes are to be supplied and provide their intended arrangement on the assembly drawing. Identify the actual materials and the interfaces between the base, pipe elements and finned body. Color and placement alone do not establish internal sealed construction, attachment method or the performance of those interfaces.
Dimension the base contact area, fin field, mounting holes and installation envelope. Locate the features from the relevant assembly datums and include adjoining components where they control clearance or contact. Specify the supplied condition so that a quotation for a finned body can be distinguished from one for a complete heat-pipe assembly.
Set the operating and acceptance conditions
Select the aluminum grade, condition and finish for the actual design. Identify any masking or contact requirements where finishing could affect assembly. A generic ±1% reference does not define the limits for every interface, and a historical casting field does not establish a compulsory route for the extrusion-related body.
Agree the order on a drawing-based scope
- Provide heat load and the required contact arrangement.
- State ambient conditions, orientation and airflow.
- Identify the included heat-pipe components and actual metals.
- Define mounting, contact-face and machining requirements.
- Specify inspection and thermal acceptance for the supplied assembly.
Confirm quantities, documentation and delivery requirements for the selected configuration. Historical sales wording does not define the current supplied scope. If thermal testing or other project-specific evidence is required, define what must be demonstrated under the actual installation conditions. The useful enquiry is the one that links a controlled assembly drawing to included components, finished interfaces and clear acceptance criteria, without treating a product title as proof of a complete functioning heat-pipe system.
