Fins between two mounting regions
The light-colored example has parallel fins, a broad base and projecting side areas with fixing openings. Dimension the base and side contacts first, then locate the fin array and mounting holes from those surfaces.
For a custom aluminum extrusion, specify the alloy, temper and complete cross-section. Define the base thickness, fin layout and side-fixing geometry on the same drawing, including the allowances needed for any CNC-finished mounting surfaces.
Finished dimensions at the assembly
Include cut length, quantities, finish and any machined holes or faces. Mark the dimensions requiring inspection at the mounting regions and fin clearances. The photograph does not verify a shared size, structural rating or heat-transfer performance for the listed material options.
