Define the rod-like component through its widened head and narrower stepped end. The red example shows repeated rib-like rings near one end and an elongated central body. Its appearance identifies a form reference for a TPU enquiry, but does not establish polymer chemistry, flexibility, hardness or impact performance.
Relate the stepped end to the head
Provide sections, actual dimensions and the mating-part geometry from controlled datums. Identify any contact, engagement or retention requirements at the ribs and head. Specify whether the component is delivered alone or with inserts or adjoining pieces rather than assigning a joining function from its shape.
Select the exact TPU formulation
State the actual material grade, required condition and relevant properties for the intended design. If hardness, flexibility or another material characteristic is important, define its test method and acceptance requirement. Other listed plastics are separate choices and should not be treated as equivalent substitutes for TPU without an agreed specification.
- Identify the stepped rod and drawing revision.
- Dimension head, body and ribbed end regions.
- Select actual TPU grade and required properties.
- Specify color reference and molded appearance.
- Agree material tests and final interface checks.
Accept the component in its supplied condition
Mark tolerances with units, datums and measurement conditions. Define matt finish and any additional cutting or painting only where required. Actual service conditions and suitable evidence are needed for any impact, retention or environmental performance requirement.
Include rod quantities, controlled geometry and the requested TPU material and inspection documentation. Tie the proposed molding plan to that exact formulation, stepped-end interface and intended installation.
