Choose a T-slot profile by its actual section and the hardware it must engage. The examples include dark square and wider rectangular sections with different slots and internal cavities. The 40x40, 2080, 4080 and 2040 references need units and individual drawings before they can define the components in an order.
Build the section schedule around the assembly
Provide a cross-section and cut length for every required item. Dimension the outer envelope, wall features, slots and internal openings. Locate any holes or machined ends from the references used by the adjoining assembly. Similar slot appearance does not establish interchangeability with a particular connector system.
- Identify each section reference with units and revision.
- Provide lengths and quantities for the selected members.
- Show the slot engagement and mating hardware.
- Select the actual alloy, temper and anodized appearance.
- Mark secondary machining and finished inspection limits.
Select the material and finishing condition
Specify the required 6063 condition or another agreed material such as the listed 6061. The photograph does not identify the composition or temper of every example. Choose finish color and appearance requirements, with masking where treatment affects mating faces or slot fit.
Agree the extrusion and secondary-work route for that design. The historical sand-casting field is a general reference rather than a compulsory sequence for these profile enquiries. Assign dimensional limits to the actual features that control acceptance instead of applying the same ±1% reference to all surfaces and cut lengths.
Define what the delivered members must include
State whether the request covers profiles alone, machined members, connectors or a complete assembly. Provide the intended installation and any loading or alignment requirements that affect selection; a T-slot name does not establish a structural rating. Confirm current quantities, documentation and delivery arrangements for the selected drawings. A useful enquiry connects each section and hardware interface to a clear material, finish and inspection scope, rather than treating the entire assortment as one standard system.
