The illustrated aluminum profile has a broad recessed channel with shaped longitudinal edges. Its cross-section determines the available internal space and how the edges meet the adjoining parts of the assembly.
Specify the channel and fitted edges
Provide the channel depth and width, wall dimensions, edge contours and finished cut length. Identify any faces that locate the profile in its assembly. Where holes or end features are required, place them on the finished drawing with the relevant inspection references.
6063 and 6061 aluminum are listed material options, with cutting and machining available. Choose the alloy and temper and define the secondary operations required for the selected part.
Anodized finish and order documents
Anodizing, oxide finishing and powder coating can be reviewed for the specified color and surface condition. Mark fitted edges requiring masking or dimensional acceptance after finishing. Include quantities, drawing revision and mating-part information so the quotation covers the complete channel profile and its required supply condition.
