Specify the mounting face above the fins
The example has a broad flat face with fixing holes and a row of parallel fins beneath it. Locate the mounting holes and contact area from the assembly drawing, and define the base thickness and overall fin envelope.
For a CNC-machined aluminum extrusion enquiry, provide the profile section, selected alloy and temper, cut length and the features requiring machining. Identify the surfaces where flatness or finish affects the mating interface and specify the required tolerances there.
Thermal and assembly information
Include heat-source dimensions, mounting hardware, airflow conditions and the thermal design requirement. State the surface treatment and any areas that must remain uncoated or receive a particular contact finish. Add quantities and the drawing revision for the profile and machining review.
