For custom plastic injection parts, resin selection and part design need to be considered together. ABS is one enquiry option alongside other plastic families; the actual grade, geometry and moulding scope should be defined for the component you need.

Select a resin for the plastic part

PA66, PP, ABS, PC and glass-fibre options represent different material choices, rather than one combined composition. Specify the required resin grade and any reinforcement, together with the environment in which the moulded part will be used. A resin-family name alone does not establish flame performance, food-contact suitability, medical compliance or an operating-temperature rating.

Clarify what the injection-moulding enquiry includes

An injection mould and a batch of finished plastic parts are separate parts of the project scope. State whether you need a new tool, have an existing mould to assess or are enquiring about the moulded components only. Identify any inserts, special surface appearance or assembly interfaces so these can be discussed alongside the part geometry.

  • Provide the plastic-part design in PDF, STP or STEP format.
  • Choose the ABS or other resin grade required for the application.
  • Define the moulded part colour, finish and visible surfaces.
  • Mark critical plastic-part dimensions and any mating or insert details.
  • State quantities and clarify whether the injection mould is within scope.

Use the drawing to define acceptance

A three-dimensional plastic-part model communicates shape, while a dimensioned drawing can identify the requirements that determine fit and acceptance. Include the intended use and any necessary testing so grade selection and design review address the same project. Required tolerances, tool arrangements and finished-part approval should be agreed for the order.

The strongest starting point for this ABS injection-parts enquiry is a defined component design with a chosen resin and a clear division between tooling and part supply.

Please include the drawing revision, material specification, quantity, critical dimensions, finish and inspection documents needed for your part. Tooling, samples, delivery and any return or remedy arrangements are subject to the agreed order terms.
