Long covers: the interfaces to dimension
This example is an elongated shallow cover with raised edges, two hollow mounting bosses and a walled section at one end. Identify the faces that seat against the assembly, the boss-center spacing and the clearance needed around the end section.
- Nylon or ABS
- For a nylon 6 enquiry, state the required PA6 grade. PA66 appears separately in the listed material options and should not replace PA6 without an agreed specification. ABS, PP and PC enquiries require their own selected grades.
- Fit and appearance
- Specify the overall length, wall sections, mounting-hole details, color and cosmetic face. Give dimensional tolerances on the features that control assembly.
Include quantities and a drawing revision when requesting a custom molding review. A photograph helps explain the profile, while the drawing and material specification define the required cover.
